Dacia Logan, the king of low cost

The Dacia Logan is a B-segment car produced by Dacia, a Romanian company and a Renault subsidiary. It is the first Dacia car to arrive in Spain. It is spacious both in the cabin and in the trunk and has a seven-seater family edition, as well as being one of the best low-cost options on the market.

It was produced in 2004 in order to replace the Dacia 1300. Its purpose was to be a low-cost, high-space car. It began to be sold in Western Europe in 2005.

Sedan bodies and the five-door hatchback were available , and from 2006 it was presented in other formats that expanded the Logan range. Among these are the Logan MCV, the Logan Van, and the Logan Pickup. Despite the fact that the second generation of this car is already running, this first generation is still in force.

Current view and its equipment

It is an attractive model, but quite simple that, even, could err on the simple side. However, the Dacia Logan can satisfy the needs of its consumer with regard to price and functionality.

Its front shares the appearance of the Dacia Sandero with elongated and square optics. However, its sides and rear do offer a more harmonious appearance than the aforementioned Sandero. In the case of the sedan, the pilots are square with a small fold to the side.

On the other hand, the Logan MCV maintains its front end and a hatchback- like view , but shows a slightly more chunky appearance which, in turn, makes it more spacious like a good family car or crossover .

The Logan is an economical and functional vehicle, so the interior and equipment section is quite limited ; the cabin is made of austere materials, but quite fair in relation to the price of the car, and other great attractions are added such as its spacious cabin or its 510-liter trunk.

The Logan has two trim lines, one more complete than the other. Still, the Ambience version borders on the basics; does not include parking sensors, on-board computer, power windows, power mirrors, height-adjustable steering wheel and seat, spare wheel or leather-trimmed steering wheel.

Dacia Logan engine

The diesel engines in the Dacia Logan are a 90 hp dCi and a 75 hp dCi. The 90 hp version is probably the most recommended for anyone who wants a Diesel Logan and uses it for family trips or with a loaded trunk. In addition, it must be taken into account that the difference between one and the other is about 600 euros.

Among the gasoline blocks of the Dacia Logan, we find a 1.0-liter mechanic, which delivers 73 HP of power, which is the most economical of the Logan range. All engines are available with manual transmission only.

In addition, the cherry on the cake is an LPG engine, a 0.9 liter TCe and 90 maximum power. An excellent complement to these functional vehicles; adds a bit more variety to the thruster range.

Dacia Logan MCV: the family car

The Dacia Logan has a varied range of bodies and one of the most popular is the Logan MCV. A seven-seater family car and still with a super spacious boot with 573 liters of cargo.

It also has a motorization of 75 and 90 CV of power in gasoline and diesel ; Unlike the sedan, it has an automatic transmission. The price difference between the Logan MCV and the Logan sedan is 1,000 euros.

At first, Dacia did not plan to sell this model in Spain, but the success was so great that it was an obligation. And it is not for less, since in such a low price range, and offering what is necessary to keep the consumer satisfied, it is what everyone looks for in a family car for the city.

Another great plus of this model is that the combination of engines and finish is more varied than the Logan sedan. Offers a Laureate finish on 0.9, 1.0 and 1.5 liter engines for both fuels. It also has a 1.2 liter LPG mixed fuel engine.

The most complete car at low cost

The price range of the Logan varies according to its equipment and engine, and starts at about 8,400 euros, which belong to the 75-hp engine in an Ambience finish. On the other hand, the liquefied gas version with 90 hp is around 9,200 euros.

The diesel versions are found for  9,500 in the 75 hp version, and from 10,100 euros to 10,500 the 90-horsepower version in its Ambience and Laureate versions.

Dacia has managed to reach the public with this car. It offers complete components and a sufficient motorization for a satisfactory use, a comfortable cabin for the driver and passengers and a very large boot; for the Logan MCV, it can be expanded to 1,518 liters of storage by folding down the second row of seats.
