Audi RS4 Avant

This station wagon, even if it is the ‘radical’ version of the A4, is a complete and balanced pack despite its aggressive aesthetics and 450 hp, transmitted to the ground thanks to its Quattro all-wheel drive.
Audi RS4 Avant

The Audi RS4 Avant is one of the most iconic models of recent times within the range of the German firm. This perfectly combines the sportiness and power that any ‘pedigree’ car requires. In addition, it has the versatility of being able to use it every day with the family and all their luggage.

For the brand, this is a crucial model in the claims of the Audi RS, and it is that various elements are extrapolated from this car that are later applied to its range brothers; It could be said that the RS4 is the starting point of the other RS of the firm. As if that were not enough, the last generation has seen the light in autumn 2017 as a completely new model.

Travel with family and in style

The new RS4 Avant is shown as one of the most aggressive Audi in terms of aesthetics to date, with a body that has been widened by up to 30 millimeters in the wheel arches. This growth in dimensions has been necessary to give enough space to the larger wheels, which can be equipped with 19 or 20-inch wheels, with exclusive designs of course.

The front now features a battery of new air intakes to cool the engine, which includes innovative intakes next to the headlights, a solution that is repeated in the taillights. Rear that now seamlessly integrates an aggressive diffuser with huge oval tailpipes as in any RS worth its salt.

In addition to all of the above, a small spoiler has been integrated into the boot lid. The spoiler is not only aesthetic, but also increases the downforce  of the vehicle at high speeds.

An atypical cabin

Inside we find a sporty aura enough to be a station wagon.  This includes sports seats with semi-bag style aesthetics   (optional), inserts of different light materials such as carbon fiber (optional), sports steering wheel and a new version of the 100% digital Virtual Cockpit, which on this occasion is customized by Audi Sport.

V6 biturbo thruster and Quattro drive

Mechanically, the new RS4 Avant debuts a V6 biturbo engine, which delivers a total power of 450 CN and a torque of 600 Nm, with which it manages to complete the  0-100 km / h in 4.1 seconds and reach a maximum speed limited to 250 km / h, expandable to 280 km / h with the RS Dynamic package, obviously paid.

This propeller, also present

Like the coupe, the RS4 Avant combines the V6 biturbo with the Quattro traction and the 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. As with the previous generation, the sedan version of this family sports car has been scrapped, so it is only available with this Avant body.

The most balanced RS

Taking into account all that this car offers and at a starting price of 96,890 euros, there is no doubt that it is the most balanced car in the RS range. It will not be the option of those who are looking for a car only to race, but it will be the final choice for those who want something more. It is the perfect successor to that mythical Audi RS2 Avant from the nineties, a true modern classic.

Be that as it may, if the RS4 is the vehicle that best suits your needs, but you are short on space or power (which we honestly doubt), the brand also has a similar family available, but even bigger and powerful, the RS6 Avant.
